Roberto Calenda, the agent of Victor Osimhen has congratulated the Napoli striker on being ranked 8th best player in the world at the Ballon d’Or and warned other stars: ‘Victor is coming.’
The Nigeria international finished 8th in the 2023 Ballon d’Or ranking, becoming the first Napoli player to finish in the top 10 and also the highest-ranked Nigerian player ever.
The previous record for a Napoli player belonged to Ruud Krol, who was ranked 15th in 1980.
His agent Calenda congratulated the Napoli striker on X, formerly Twitter: “You made history and the future is yours’, Victor is coming!”
Osimhen scored 26 goals in 32 appearances in Serie A last season becoming the league’s top scorer and contributing to Napoli’s first Scudetto in 33 years.
Osimhen is currently out of action due to a muscle injury and has scored six goals in 10 appearances across all competitions this season. Overall, he has netted 23 league goals so far in 2023
