Ottasolo Support Tinubu Pre-season Tourney: Otunba, Kola Daniel Reveal Plans

Otunba Gabriel Davis chairman of Ottasolo football club has revealed that this year’s preseason tourney will be a dynamic one and will also been used to canvas support for the presidential candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC) Bola Ahmed Tinubu as it would be tagged Ottasolo Support Tinubu tournament.

The sole financer of the preseason tourney said he would never relent on organizing the tourney adding that this year’s tourney will be a unique one compared to the first edition.

“I will continue with the private preseason tourney in Nigeria but this year’s tourney is going to be will be in a new dimension we’ll call it Ottasolo support Tinubu tournament it is going to come up very soon”, He said to journalist on Sunday.

He further added that he will continue with the twelves team template which will involve teams in the NPFL, NNL and some Academy teams to give them a chance with the big boys.

“We continue inviting the big club’s in the country from the NPFL and the NNL and some teams from the Academy we will do the same thing we did last year”, He concluded.

Also speaking was the coordinator for the Ottasolo tourney Special Adviser to the Minister for youth and sports development, Kola Daniel who stated that the last edition produced talent who went on to represent Nigeria at different level which actually outlined the main purpose for the competition.

He further explained that the previous edition was more of a preparatory ground for what to come adding that the Ottasolo tourney has come to stay.

“We started the preseason tourney last year, it was more of a preparatory ground for us and I must say that the Ottasolo tournament has come to stay.

“In the last edition we produced six players who went on to play in the National U20 and U17 teams respectively, like Boluwaji Sholumade who was part of Ladan Bosso’s team who won the WAFU B tourney in Niger as well as Ifeanyi Ogba who scored nine goals with Lobi stars last season and has now joined Akwa United. That’s to tell you that the Ottasolo tourney has come to stay in-terms of producing talent and exposing talent and also giving back to the society because there will be economic activity where the tournament will be played”, He said.

The coordinator also stated that the second edition will be topnotch with twelve teams participating he also revealed that each of the twelves teams will have five hundred thousand naira (500,0000) as an appearance

“The second edition will be topnotch, we will be having 12 teams and each of this teams will have five hundred thousand naira as an appearance fee and we feel it is the way to go”, He stated.

The tournament will commence in the next two weeks in Lagos state.
