FC Pyunik of Armenia forward Yusuf Otubanjo has made history after he became the first Nigerian to win the UEFA Europa Conference League Goal of the Week award.
Otubanjo scored a superb goal for his side in their 2-0 win over Slovan Bratislava on Thursday night.
The 30-year-old beat three other players to the individual accolade.
His Nigerian counterparts Peter Olayinka and Samuel Chukwueze were nominated for the award last week.
Otubanjo who joined Pyunik from Ararat-Armenia this summer grabbed his first UEFA Europa Conference League goal for the Armenian side in an emphatic fashion.
The victory is the first one an Armenian club will record in the group stage of a UEFA club competition.
Pyunik’s next game in the Conference League will be against Zalgiris from Lithuania.
