Otubanjo Nets Tenth Goal Of The Season, Becomes Armenian League Top Scorer

Ararat-Armenia Nigerian forward Yusuf Otubanjo scored twice for his club over the weekend to become the highest goal scorer of the Armenian premier league with 10 goals so far this season.


The former youth international open the goal scoring chart of the week 22 encounter between Uratu FC who hosted Armenian in the 16th minute before Oleg Polyakov level for the host in the in the 36th. Otubanjo scored his 10th and the winning goal of the game in the 82 minutes of the encounter.

Ararat Armenian are second on the log with 37th points with a game at hand, while the league leader FC Noah are on 41st points.

Speaking after the game, the 2019/ 2020 Armenian league winner said he is happy to help his team get the maximum point and will continue to put more effort to help the team retain the league this season.


“I want to thank my teammates, the coaches and everyone at Ararat Armenia ever since I arrived. You guys have really motivated me. I want to do everything to retain the Armenian premier league this season again and I believe with hard work and more effort we will achieve that, he concluded.

Yusuf Otubanjo was part of the Nigerian under-17 FIFA World cup runner-up in 2009. He enjoined a good starring career from home front with Julius Berger Football Club, Gateway United FC, Crown FC, move abroad with Atletico Madrid of Spain, FC Red bull Salzburg, FC Pasching, FC Blau-weib Linz Zilina, Sc Alyach, Lask Linz before joining Ararat Armenia in the 2019/2020 season.
