More than fifty grassroots and professional coaches gathered for the One-Day Coach Aliyu Zubairu Coaching Seminar, held on Sunday, July 27th, 2025, inside the conference room of the Kwara Football Academy (KFA), Ilorin.
The impactful seminar, designed to enhance technical knowledge and coaching capacity, featured top football minds including Nigeria U20 Head Coach, Aliyu Zubairu, who delivered an insightful session on “Typical Match Analysis and Evaluation.” He also conducted a practical demonstration on possession play, helping participants grasp tactical strategies in live scenarios.
Veteran tactician Coach Gbenga Ogunbote, fondly referred to as The Oracle, took the coaches through a technical session titled “How to Develop a Player Technically,” where he emphasized the importance of detail-oriented training, player-specific development, and adaptability in modern football.
Participants were also urged to join their respective State Coaches Associations to foster collaboration, access educational resources, and stay connected within the evolving football landscape.
Among the dignitaries present was Professor Tajudeen Ibrahim, Director of Sports at the University of Ilorin, whose presence added academic credibility and support to the initiative. Others included Coach Deji Ayeni, Head Coach of Crown FC, and Coach Paul Odeh, former Technical Director of KFA.
The seminar was widely applauded for its depth, relevance, and interactive format, contributing to ongoing efforts to elevate coaching standards in Nigeria.
