Nigeria were 2-0 winners over Cameroonian top-flight club Coton Sport in a friendly game as part of their preparations for the 2021 African cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon.
Captain Ahmed Musa and Villarreal forward Samuel Chukwueze where the goal scorers in both half as they handed Coach Eguavoen his first victory since being appointed the Interim Manager of the side following the sack of German tactician Gernot Rohr.
It was a 4-2-3-1 set up by Coach Eguavoen which had Maduka Okoye, Ola Aina, Zaidu Sanusi, William Ekong, Kenneth Omeruo, Wilfred Ndidi, Jo Aribo, Kelechi Iheanacho, Chidera Ejuke, Ahmed Musa, Taiwo Awoniyi in the starting line up.
Eguavoen made ten changes in the second half with only Zaidu Sanusi retaining his place in the second half, Francis Uzoho, Olisa Ndah, Zaidu Sanusi, Semi Ajayi, Chidozie Awaziem, Frank Onyeka, Kelechi Nwakali, Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze, Moses Simon, Sadiq Umar where the second half substituted.
Nigeria will play Egypt, Sudan and Guinea Bissau in Group D.
