The final match of the 2022 FIFA World Cup will be contested between Argentina led by legendary captain Lionel Messi and France, who are bidding to win the World Cup successively.
The match will be the 64th match to be played in the Qatar 2022 World Cup and will be played at Lusail Iconic Stadium in Lusail, Qatar.
The Argentines were no match for their opponent in the semi-final as they ran out comfortably with a 3-0 victory against Croatia and are bidding for their first World Cup triumph since 1986.
The French team on the other hand got the better of African side Morocco to set up this tantalizing finale.
Lionel Messi will be hoping to be second-time lucky after losing in the final of the 2014 World Cup to Germany in neighboring Brazil.
The match will be a straight battle between 35 years Messi and 23 years old Kylian Mbappe for the tournament’s Golden boot as both players are currently tied on 5 goals.
This contest will be the sixth meeting between the two football heavyweights and the last was in the round of 16 in Russia’s 2018 World Cup where the French team emerged victorious with Mbappe scoring twice.
