Africa’s hope of a splendid outing at the Qatar 2022 World Cup suffered a set back as Senegal and Bayern Munich forward, Sadio Mane copped up an injury which has ruled him out of the mundial.
Mane was taken off just 20th minutes into the Bundesliga encounter between his club and Werder Bremen which ended 6-1 at the Alianz Arena in favour of the homers.
Mane who has so far had great season with Bayern Munich since moving from Liverpool is the talisman of Teranga Lions. He was instrumental to their AFCON triumph in Cameroun last year.
He is the one many are looking upto in this tournament to propel Senegal for a likely repeat of their outstanding display at Korea/Japan 2002 World Cup which the present coach of the team Aliou Sese was captain of the squad.
This is a big blow not just for Senegal but for Africa as the mundial kicks off in 13 days time.
