General Manager of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, Rasheed Balogun, says the Oluyole Warriors will go for maximum points in all their matches when the 2021 season commences.
The Oluyole Warriors will begin their campaign for promotion in the 2021 NNL season with a home game against Rovers of Calabar, in a Group B1 Match Day One clash on Saturday, January 30 at the Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu-Ode.
Featuring on a Splash FM 105.5 sports programme Sports Bang on Wednesday morning, Balogun, who for the umpteenth time, expressed confidence about the promotion chances of the team, said the Ibadan soccer lords will restart from where they stopped in the botched 2019/20 season.
“In the season that was cancelled, we played five matches, won four and drew one.That is exactly the form we are taking into the new season.
“We are not going to underrate any team but we will approach all our matches with winning as our target”, disclosed the 3SC GM, who added that he was 99.9 percent sure, the promotion ticket to the NPFL would be secured.
On what gave him such confidence, the former Stationery Stores of Lagos and Sunshine Stars of Akure Team Manager based his optimism on the level of preparedness of the team ahead of the commencement of the season.
“We have been preparing for a very long time and as we speak, the boys have been in close camping in Ijebu-Ode for the past weeks and they will remain there untill the season starts on January 30”.
Balogun revealed that the club was enjoying the full support of the Executive Governor of the state, Engineer Seyi Makinde, who has given much attention to the cause of the team.
On the issue of Ayobami Junior, the former Dolphins of Port Harcourt topnotch said the midfielder remains a bonafide player of the Oluyole Warriors but would only be cleared if Kano Pillars do the right thing.
He explaiined that both 3SC and Pillars were summoned to Abuja by the League Management Company (LMC) over the issue, where Pillars were told to go and renegotiate with 3SC for the players’ clearance to be obtained, without which he would not be cleared to be registered by Pillars for the ongoing season.
