Referee’s Reversal: Committee Upholds 0-0 Result in Enyimba vs Doma United Match




The Nigeria Football Federation Disciplinary Committee has made decisions regarding a protest lodged by Doma United against the decision of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) on a match played between Enyimba Int’l FC and Doma United FC on March 10, 2024. The committee found that:

– The referee erred in changing his decision after the game was restarted, contravening Law 5 of the FIFA/IFAB Laws of the game.

– The referee should not have left the pitch to review the replay of the match in the Outside Broadcasting Van (OB Van).

– The result of the match at the point of the restart (0-0) is upheld.

– The NPFL’s decision declaring the match conclusive is upheld.

– The Match Commissioner is reprimanded for not being fully responsible.

– The decisions are without prejudice to the right of appeal.
