Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa has been dropped to the bench as Williams Troost-Ekong will be leading Nigeria’s Super Eagles out in today’s AFCON 2021 Qualifiers against Benin Republic.
The Super Eagles game against Les Squirrels is billed for 5pm local time at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
Many had thought Musa will start following his goal form for Saudi Arabia AlAl-Nasr last week where he bagged a brace in his second game after returning from injury.
In the list released by Gernot Rohr, Akpeyi is in goal for Nigeria while Ekong will be incharge of the defenceline alongside the trio of Aina, Ajayi and Collins.
Ndidi takes his place in midfield in company of Iwobi and Aribo.
The trio of Osimhen, Chukwueze and Kalu spear heads the attack in what looks like a 4⃣-3⃣-3⃣ formation.
