Rohr Yet To Achieve Anything With Super Eagles, Says Friday Elahor

Former Nigerian International Friday Elahor, has expressed disdain over the handling of the Super Eagles by Coach Gernort Rohr ahead of the nations cup 2021 qualifying matches between Benin Republic and Lesotho this November.

The 51-year-old shared his frustration about how the franco-german tactician is handling Nigeria senior national team, “I don’t think the coach has done anything special with the team and that’s my own opinion, I don’t know what others are saying.

“People will say he has qualified us for the World Cup and won bronze at the AFCON, but that’s not the issue” he concluded.

Elahor played club football in Nigeria, Denmark, Ivory Coast and India for Bendel Insurance, ACB Lagos, Iwuanyanwu Nationale, Brøndby, Africa Sports, Nigerdock Lagos, FC Kochin and Mohun Bagan.

He also featured 14 times for the Nigerian national team between 1990 and 1993, and participated at the 1990 African Cup of Nations.

Rohr was named manager of the Nigeria national football team by Amaju Pinnick, the president of the Nigeria Football Federation. He won his first game in charge of the Nigerian national team, defeating Tanzania by a lone goal in Uyo, Nigeria. He lost his first match on 10 June as Nigerian senior coach after a 2–0 home loss to South Africa.

He led the Nigerian team to became the first African side to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup after a 1–0 win against Zambia. On 17 July 2019, he won a bronze medal at the African cup of nations competition with the Nigerian team.
