Sanusi Wins Portuguese Cup On His Return To Action

Super Eagles left back Zaidu Sanusi has won the Taça da Liga (Portuguese League Cup) with Porto after overcoming rivals Sporting 2-0, Owosports.com.ng reports.

Estáquio and Marcano scored the goals in 10th and 86th minutes of the deciding encounter.

Sanusi won the trophy on his return to action after he injured his left abductor on November 1, 2022, in a Champions League game against Atletico Madrid, where Porto won 2-1.

He went off injured in the 53rd minute of the game and was replaced by Brazilian defender Wendell.

The 25-year old who has been missing out of action for over two months returned and helped his team to the Portuguese cup title win for Porto who has now won a record 83rd official trophy making them the club with the most titles in the history of Portuguese football.
