Former Nigeria Super Eagles Coach, Chief Adegboye Onigbinde has declared his support for the second edition of NLO/Berackiah football coaching clinic.
The Modakeke High Chief made the disclosure on Friday at his country home in Ibadan during a courtesy visit by the CEO of Berackiah International, Wonders Nwigwe.
Chief Onigbinde, who was part of the first edition of the clinic which held across the six geo-political zone of the country stated that the initiative will further develop football game in the country.
“I appreciate the efforts everybody is doing to develop Nigerian football and that’s what I have been talking about and been writing about for almost half a century” stated the octogenarian who noted that the clinic will be of great impact on grassroots coaches in Nigeria.
Lamenting the state of Nigeria football, he emphasized the need for strategic plans to raise the bar of the game in the country, while adding that the efforts must be consistent and sustainable.
“Development is the crucial thing. If you’re a business man, selling some items, if you don’t develop on that business it would die and that’s what is happening to Nigeria football now, because we’re not developing it.
He lauded the organizers of the programme and stressed his support towards the success of the “Train The Trainers Idea” which will once again hold across the country.
“This is a step in the right direction. Let’s just find a way to develop our football, so that we will be able to empower some of our young boys, i admire the efforts and wish him the best of luck, refering to CEO of Berackiah International.
Recall that Chief Onigbinde was joined by other instructors from Europe and Nigeria at the last edition of the clinic where about 800 grassroots coaches were impacted, the FIFA/CAF retired football instructor is expected to be on ground for the second edition of the programme billed to hold from the 1st of February to the 28th of the same month.
