Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman was impressive in Atalanta’s emphatic 8-2 home win over Salernitana in the Serie A match played on Sunday evening.
The 25-year-old Super Eagles forward scored a goal each in both halves to increase his league goals this season to nine.
He opened his scoring and Atalanta’s second goal from a penalty kick in the 20th minute before he scored his second in the 58th minute as the home team were in their best-attacking form.
The former Everton player is now three goals from reaching the number of goals another Super Eagles player Victor Osihmen has scored as both Nigerian internationals are now among the top 3 goalscorers in the Italian league this season.
The victory ensured Atalanta are now in 6th place with 34 points after 18 matches.
