Fresh from two straight victories, Ibadan soccer lords, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC),will return to the pitch on Wednesday afternoon, hoping to continue with their recently found form.
The Oluyole Warriors will play host to Heartland FC of Owerri, in a NPFL matchday ten encounter billed for the Lekan Salami Stadium, with pundits tipping them to replicate the performance of the last two outings.
A dramaric 2-1 hone win over Kwara United on matchday eight and a 1-0 hard won triumph over MFM of Lagos last Sunday, have suddenly changed the tide of things in favour of 3SC and the Edith Agoye tutored team, will aim for nothing but continuation of the good run.
Having been pushed up the ladder by those wins, the Oluyole Warriors are poised to secure their third consecutive victory, which will further move them up ladder.
Based on current form, the former continental champions, should have little or no problem in compounding the woes of the hapless visitors, who are placed 19th on the log, going into Wednesday match, having garneted seven points from nine matches.
Despite their unimpressive performance so far, Heartland will expectedly raise their game to avoid defeat and as well shock bookmakers.
However, going by the mood in the camp of their host, their dream may not come to reality.
Although they are better than the Naze Millionaires, going by current rating, 3SC vice captain, Abbey Benson, said the visitors would not be taken for granted, expressing their (3SC) readiness to throw in everything they have into the game.
“Heartland may not be having a good run at the moment, but they are always a side to be reckoned with.We will lift our game against them on Wednesday because we want to consolidate on the good results we are getting”, said the 3SC central defender.
Of course, supporters and fans of the Oluyole Warriors, apparently happy with the current form of the team,, especially the away win against MFM, will definitely turn up in large number to cheer their darling team to another win in this midweek fixture.
