The Showtime Bowl Series XIII lit up Lagos again in Week 2 as fans were treated to high-intensity flag football, thrilling scorelines, and dramatic shifts in the standings.
Defending champions Warriors Flag Football flexed their muscles with a commanding 53–15 victory over Lekki Braves, yet despite the emphatic win, they slipped one spot to third place. The Braves, still searching for form, remain rooted at the bottom of the table in tenth.
The Lagos Athletic Knights produced one of the standout performances of the day, crushing Mainland Long Horns 47–0. The Knights’ ruthless display lifted them from third to second, while the Long Horns slid down to ninth.
The biggest shake-up came from the Lagos Rebels, who shocked the Lagos Raptors with a 37–15 triumph. The Rebels’ resurgence saw them climb from eighth to fifth in the standings, while the Raptors moved slightly upward into eighth despite the loss.
At the top, Panthers Sports reinforced their dominance with a crushing 44–0 shutout of Greenbacks Flag Football, maintaining their number-one position for the second consecutive week. The Greenbacks, however, dropped to seventh after a difficult outing.
Meanwhile, Ikan Sports outclassed Lagos Alpha Flag Football 40–14, earning a vital rise to fourth place. Alpha, on the other hand, slipped from fourth to sixth.
With two weeks gone, the Panthers remain the team to beat, but the Knights and Warriors are closing in fast, while surprise packages like the Rebels are proving that anything is possible in this year’s league.
From the electric atmosphere inside Showtime Arena to the fierce battles on the turf, the Showtime Bowl Series is once again proving why it’s Africa’s premier flag football league—a true festival of sport, entertainment, and community.
