Week 2 of the Showtime Flag Football League, played under the guardianship of the Nigeria Flag Football Federation (NFFF), delivered thrilling matchups, redemption stories, and dominant performances, setting the stage for an intense season ahead.

Panthers roar back with first win After a tough Week 1 loss, the Panthers found their rhythm and secured a 32-21 victory over the Greenbacks.

Greenbacks struck first with Emeka Okeke finding the end zone in the first quarter, but their momentum stalled after a series of penalties. The Panthers responded in the second quarter with a touchdown from Fawaz, followed by Cosmos converting the extra point to take the lead.

Rashedat pushed Greenbacks back in front with a touchdown, but Onyinye turned the tide for the Panthers with a crucial interception. That shift in momentum set up Fawaz for another Panthers touchdown.

Ayodeji kept the Greenbacks in the fight with a touchdown and an extra point from Okeke, but Panthers refused to let go. Ifeanyi extended their lead with another touchdown, and Onyinye grabbed her second interception of the game to shut down a potential Greenbacks comeback. Cosmos sealed the game with a late touchdown and extra points, securing a well-earned victory.

Warriors dismantle Off-SZN with dominant 51-0 win Coming off a loss in Week 1, the Warriors had a point to prove—and they did just that with an emphatic 51-0 victory over Off-SZN, enforcing the mercy rule.

The game started with an early defensive stand as Jumai intercepted Off-SZN’s third and female play, setting up Misturah for the opening touchdown. Thompson followed up with another interception, while Gbemisola added a touchdown before halftime.

In the second half, Gbemisola struck again with another touchdown, further widening the gap. Off-SZN showed brief resistance with Aishat securing a first down, but the Warriors shut the door with another Misturah touchdown in the third quarter.

Anu Bello delivered another defensive highlight with an interception, paving the way for Otega to close the game with a final touchdown. Off-SZN had no answers as the Warriors ran away with the most dominant performance of the season so far.

Other Week 2 results:

L.A. Knights 19-14 Raptors – A hard-fought battle saw the Knights edge out a close win.

Ikan Sports 54-06 Lagos Alpha – Ikan Sports continued their explosive form, overwhelming Lagos Alpha with a commanding performance.

With Week 3 approaching, momentum is key. Can the Panthers build on their first win? Will the Warriors continue their dominant streak? The Showtime Flag Football League is just heating up.
