Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Mudashiru Obasa along with the President World Olympian Association, Joel Bouzou, OLY, decorated three Nigerian Olympians in Paris.
Obasa, who has been serving as Speaker Lagos State House of Assembly since 2015 also promised to donate Ten million naira (N10M) to the three Lagos olympians. They were decorated at the OLY House, Paris.
The Speaker extended the kind gesture as a reward for their outstanding performance during their time as athletes when they represented Nigeria in various sports at the Olympics. He added that the gesture was as a result of the Olympians’ ability to uplift and showcase the good image of Lagos and Nigeria to the world.
Collectively, the athletes who benefitted from the largesse appreciated the speaker. They expressed their gratitude for the gesture and promised to continue to encourage young athletes to represent Nigeria with pride and determination in future competitions. They thanked the Speaker and the Lagos State House of Assembly for their support and encouragement, and promised to continue to make the country proud in their respective sports.
The Speaker commended the athletes for their dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence, which led to their success at the Olympics during their days. He stated that the cash reward was a token of appreciation for their efforts and a way to show support for their future endeavors in sports.

Also present at the OLY House are: CEO, World Olympian Association, Mike Miller, Senegalese 1988 Olympic silver medalist, Amadou Dia Ba and first Olympics medalist for Burundi, Venuste Niyongabo.
