Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper has praised Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Dennis on getting his name on the scoresheet sheet here after his team drew 1-1 with Aston Villa in the English Premier League on Monday night.
The 24-year-old Nigerian International helped his club Nottingham Forest half their losing streak as he opened his goal account for the newly-promoted club.
Three in midfield was one of the five alterations the head coach made to his team, and it paid off.
Cooper positioned his team to be more tightly packed, difficult to beat and keep their shape throughout the game.
Nottingham Forest’s manager couldn’t hide his excitement while speaking to the press after the game at the City Ground on matchday nine fixture of the new EPL season.
“I’m pleased to see him score and generally do well in the team,” Cooper said.
He also told BBC Radio Nottingham that he is happy to hand Dennis his debut
“He’s waiting patiently. Emmanuel is an interesting player and I’m delighted to give him his start,” he added.
Dennis’ goal off a Morgan Gibbs-White corner kick gave Forest the lead, and he fought hard the entire time.
Cooper praised Dennis after the game for helping Forest get a respectable home point.
Emmanuel Dennis who was signed from Watford in the summer for around £20 million has struggled to make an impact for his new team after having impressed in the Premier League with relegated Watford last season.
