Captain of the Super Eagles Ahmed Musa has terminated his contract with Turkish Super Lig side Fatih Karagümrük on a mutual consent.
After making 34 appearances and scoring 2 goals in two seasons with Fatih Karagümrük, the 29-year-old attacker from Jos, who has previously played for VVV-Venlo, CSKA Moscow, Leicester City, and Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia since making his debut in 2008, becomes a free agent.
In a statement released by the club’s official Twitter handle confirmed the departure of the 2013 AFCON winner.
“We have parted ways by mutual agreement with professional football player Ahmed Musa, who was included in our squad in the 2021-22 season.
“We would like to thank Ahmed Musa for his services to our club and wish him success in his future football career.”
Ahmed Musa joined Fatih Karagümrük last year from his second spell at Kano Pillars in which he made eight appearances for the NPFL side for the end of the 2020/2021 season after leaving his boyhood club for Europe in 2010.
His career began in April 2010 at the GBS Football Academy in Nigeria under Coach Lars Lagerbäck.
He has since made 107 appearances and scored 16 goals for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
