Super Eagles Midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo Seals Aris Thessaloniki FC Move

Nigeria International Oghenekaro Etebo has signed a permanent transfer to Greek Super League club Aris Thessaloniki FC, the club confirmed, reports OwoSports.com.ng

The 26-year-old midfielder joined the three-time Greek Super League champions after spending three seasons at Sky Bet Championship side Stoke City.

The Warri-born central midfielder’s impressive performances for Warri Wolves during his first season as a professional did not go unnoticed by many European clubs, as evidenced by the fact that he was swiftly acquired by Portuguese club Feirense in January 2016.

His outstanding season for Feirense earned him a bigger move to the Southwestern part of Europe in Spain, with Spanish side Las Palmas midway through his third season where he made 14 appearances in half a season in La Liga before moving to Stoke city in England in the summer of 2018.

Oghenekaro Etebo who has spent time on loan at Getafe, Galatasaray and Watford since joining Stoke City on the eve of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia joined former teammates Andre Gray and Nicolas N’Koulou to become the club’s 12th summer signing.

The former Stoke City player made his international debut on 27 July 2013 against Côte d’Ivoire in a 2–0 loss in Abidjan during the 2014 African Nations Championship qualification campaign for home-based players, notching 44 appreances for the Super Eagles and scoring three goals.

Etebo will hope to feature for Alan Pardew’s team when they welcome reigning league champions Olympiacos at the Kleanthis Vikelidis Stadium on Sunday.
