Nigeria’s men’s national football team, The Super Eagles have slipped eight places in the latest FIFA men’s ranking, released on Thursday, Owosports.com.ng report.

Nigeria now ranks 38th, down from 30th, and fifth in Africa, behind Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, and Cote d’Ivoire.

The team’s decline follows a 1-1 draw with South Africa and a 2-1 loss to Benin Republic in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Argentina remains top-ranked, followed by France, Belgium, Brazil, and England.

Liberia’s Lone Stars made the biggest gain, rising 10 spots to a record high of 142nd, while Equatorial Guinea suffered the largest drop, falling 10 places and losing 47.53 points.

San Marino ranks last among 210 teams, with Eritrea being the only unranked country.
