FC Robo Queens striker, Monday Gift has joined Spanish side Unión Deportiva Granadilla Tenerife, OwoSports.com.ng reports.

Monday was the best player in last season’s Nigerian Women Football League scoring 12 goals in 10 games for FC Robo. She won the NWFL Most Valuable Player award even though FC Robo failed to win the league.

The 2021/2022 NWFL Top-Scorer was officially presented to the fans at the Hotel Barceló Tenerife, located in Golf del Sur (San Miguel de Abona) where the new Hummel sports line was also presented on Monday.

Confirming her transfer via a short video shared on the club’s Official Twitter handle, Gift Monday was in excitement and said that she can’t wait to see the fans.

“💙🤍 See you soon!🥰👋,” Gift who is currently on National duty with the Super Falcons said.

At 20 years old, she has been named one of the most outstanding players in her country’s First Division (NWFL), a competition in which she won the title with Bayelsa Queens and, in addition to participating in the 2018 U20 World Cup in France, she recently played the Women African Cup of Africa of Nations in Morocco with the senior team, playing a total of five games.

She will try to make a significant breakthrough in her career after being hailed as one of Nigeria’s soccer greatest prospects.

The former Bayelsa Queena player signed a three-year contract with the Spanish Top Division Side.

Monday would look to help her new team improve on their fifth-place finish in the league last season when the new Primera División kicks off on the 11th of September.
