Nigeria’s Super_Falcons have been bundled out of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic qualifiers after they drew 1-1 with their Ivorian counterpart in a CAF Women’s Olympic qualifier 3rd round, 2nd leg tie decided today (Monday) at the Agege Stadium.

The senior Women National football team who will rue their countless misses, had goalkeeper Nnadozie to thank after sharing the spoils thus failing to progress on away goal rules.

Both goals were scored in the 1st half as Ivory Coast took a shocking lead in the 12th minute after Nina Kapho found the back of Nnadozie’s net.

Nnadozie denied the Ivorians from going up 2-0 in the 32th minute as she made a brilliant save from Ange N’Guessan effort as she fired a shot from the edge of the box.

The lead didn’t last long as captain Asisat Oshoala made it 1⃣-1⃣ shooting past the Ivorian goalkeeper to level scores for the Super Falcons in the 34th minute.

Ajibade should have made it 2⃣-1⃣ for Nigeria in the 52nd minute but shoots wide despite profiting from the Ivorians sloppy defending.

In the 64th Nnadozie was her best as she made a top class save to deny Clementine Toure’s side from scoring a second goal.

Regina Otu should have put the icing on the cake for Nigeria in the 84th minute but her efforts was easily caught by the Ivorian goalkeeper.

The Super Falcons have now missed three straight Olympics tournaments (London 2012, Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020).
