Optimistic of reaching the next round
Nigeria U23 defender Tanimu Benjamin has expressed his excitement after featuring for Bendel Insurance in the CAF confederation cup tie against ASO Chlef on Saturday adding that it was a dream come true, Owosports.com.ng reports.
The Benin Arsenals who returned to the continent after their 19 years absence began their CAF confederation cup campaign with a 1-0 victory over their Algerian counterpart in front of a jam-packed crowd inside the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium in Benin City, Edo State.
“I feel very appreciative and happy because every footballer dreams to feature at a big tournament just like this and to represent a big club like Bendel Insurance FC”, He said in a chat with owosports.com.ng.
He however expressed optimism of reaching the next phase of the competition adding that with hard work and commitment anything is achievable.
“We’re taking every game as they come gradually but with hard work and teamwork I pray we come out with a positive result”. He said.
