Engineer Tayo Olagunju, the project consultant for the Squash Court Project and Managing Director of Taolag Global Support & Services, has commended Governor Abdulrasaq Abdulrahman for his visionary leadership in sports development in Kwara State.

“It’s a laudable project; we thank God and His Excellency Governor Abdulrasaq Abdulrahman, whose visionary input for sports activities in the State, especially in areas where youth would be encouraged. We so much appreciate him, and I am happy to be part of the developmental activities of the state,” Olagunji said.

“The project is very unique and very huge; it would take Kwara State to the lead amongst other states. I can say that the project is one that would place Kwara State on the world map because this Squash Court is the first in Africa and amongst the best in the world,” he added.

“This is a multimillion-naira project, as you can see by the time you look at the facilities. You would discover that it is worth every penny that has been spent. We have ten courts and also dressing rooms alongside it. The facility has courts built with AC, air extractors, solar inverters, which is going to provide 24 hours power supply, meaning that all activities can go on uninterrupted. We also have security; the facilities are of international standard, which, as it is now, despite it not being commissioned, we have received several letters from different international organizations to come host international tournaments. About three bodies have shown interest,” Olagunji explained.

“You can imagine the economic improvement that it would bring to the state from the angle of housing, hotels, and recreational centers that will generate funds. A lot of organizations will generate funds. The Squash Court will definitely boost the economy of the state once it is commissioned. So, I say it again, I am so appreciative of His Excellency for his visionary input in the state, not only in the area of sports but also social amenities, health, education, works. You can see a lot of roads, even here in the stadium; we are standing on a new lay road. So also, he did it around the road network of the stadium.”

“And also, the indoor sports hall is currently undergoing, which is over a two billion naira project. You can imagine the facilities that we have there. So, we can’t thank him enough, and also, God bless him, and we wish Kwara State the kind of leader he is for the betterment of Kwarans.”
