The Super Eagles of Nigerian could make a surprise return to Lagos for their AFCON 2022 qualifiers against Lesotho later in March.

The last time the Super Eagles played a competitive match in Lagos was far back 2000 in an African Cup of Nations final co-hosted by Nigeria and Ghana. Nigeria lost to Carmeroon 5-4 on penalties.

However, according to an update from former Super Eagles Media Officer and top Nigerian sports journalist, Colin Udoh via his twitter handle, confirmed that the Super Eagles AFCON qualifiers will be hosted at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos State.

“EKO FOR SHOW: Nigeria v Lesotho #Afcon2021Q in March will be played at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.
Plenty to unpack there @NGSuperEagles”, he tweeted.

A win for Nigerian against Lossotho will be enough to secure a place at next year’s African Cup of Nations showpiece in Carmeroon as they currently top Group L with 8 points.
