Tobi Amusan Elated To Win FIN Award In Dubai

Nigerian sprint hurdler,  Tobi Amusan has expressed her delight after  landing another global recognition.

Guardian.ng reports that the world record holder won ‘the best woman in sports’ of this year’s prestigious FIN Women Award in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday.

“I am indeed elated that I have been found worthy to be awarded the best woman in sports,” said Amusan

The award recognises outstanding female leaders, male champions as well as institutions for their commitment to advance the cause of women empowerment within the public and corporate sectors.

Amusan further said “This will always cross my mind, and constantly remind me of how it all started and every effort our team put in to get to where we are now. It gives me so much joy that our efforts are not being overlooked, and that each person in this room is the winners. I want to say thank you all, most importantly (FIN Women). Let this award be a seal of what we can all achieve. Shout out to all women out there doing exploit,”.

The Tokyo Olympic finalist won the Diamond League trophy in September after setting a new 12.42 seconds African record to win the 100m hurdles Diamond Trophy at the Weltklasse , Switzerland

Another Nigerian woman who got on the podium to receive the ‘leading female philanthropist’ award is Reverend Mother Esther Abimbola Ajayi of Love of Christ Generation Cherubim and Seraphim Church.
