Super Eagles defender Ola Aina has been presented with a new two-year contract by his Serie A club Torino.
The 26-year-old versatile defender is set to become a free agent next summer, but his Turin based Serie A club has offered to keep him and remain at the Stadio Olimpico until 2025.
Les Transferts reports that Torino’s negotiations with the dependable defender have advanced favorably.
Aina was on the verge of quitting Torino this summer after losing his spot on the team during the second half of the previous campaign.
However, the Nigerian international has made 10 appearances for Ivan Juric’s team after a strong comeback.
Ola Aina was part of interim coach Austine Eguavoen’s Super Eagles team that went out of the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon at the hands of Tunisia in the quarter-finals January this year.
Aina who a product of Chelsea’s youth system joined Torino initially on loan in 2018, before the Serie A club made the move permanent the following season.
During the course of the season, an announcement on his contract extension is likely to be made soon.
