Two English Clubs Battles For The Signature Of Former Super Eagles Skipper

English Premier League outfit West Ham United and Championship promotion hopeful West Bromwich Albion are reportedly interested in the Signature of former Super Eagles captain, John Obi Mikel.

The 33-years Old who is understood to have also attracted interest from Itailan Serie B side Benevento has been a free agent after terminating his contract on mutual consent with Turkish side Trabzonospor in March, over his refusal to continue playing after the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

Championship side, West Brom were reportedly to have shown interest in the player, but according to Tribal Football, West Ham are already in talks with the 33-year-old.

The Former Chelsea and Tiajin Teda of China Midfielder Mikel Obi have also had interest from Brazilian sides Botafogo and Internacional, as well as Mexican club Monterrey with the midfielder confirming the interest.

According to Reports from Tribal Football, “there is a contract with the Hammers and talks are underway about next season.

“Ultimately, Mikel’s final decision will depend on whether the team in question is in the Premier League next season.”

The Nigerian had a successful eleven years spell with Chelsea, winning the Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League and the Europa League.
