U-20 AFCON: Senegal Thrash Tunisia To Zoom Into Final

Senegal’s U-20 Men’s football team on Monday at the Suez Canal Stadium Ismailia stadium trounced the Junior Carthage Lions of Tunisia 3-0 in the 1st Semifinal of the U20 African Youth Championships.

Attacking Midfielder, Lamine Camara scored a brace when he pounced on a back pass error in the 17th minute and increased it with the 3rd goal in the 52nd minute.

Irrepressible Papa Diop scored the first goal of the game in the 7th minute taking his goals tally to five in the competition making him the top goal scorer so far in the competition.

Senegal had lost two previous encounters with Tunisia. On 11th September 2022 Senegal lost 0-1 and on 14th February 2023 she lost again 1-2.

The two most valuable players of the tournament are from Senegal and Tunisia. Mohammed Diop, Attacking Mid Fielder of FC Sheriff Tiraspol who is worth 500k Euros and Al-Ahly of Cairo Mohammed Dhaoui 1m Euros.

Senegal will now meet the winner between Nigeria and Gambia on Friday 10th March 2023.
