Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen continued his blistering form in Europe, netting a superb hat-trick as Galatasaray thrashed Ajax in their UEFA Champions League group clash on Wednesday night to move top of the competition’s goal scorers’ chart.
The former Napoli striker was in unstoppable form on Matchday 4, scoring three times to take his tally to six goals, overtaking the likes of Erling Haaland, Harry Kane, and Kylian Mbappé in the race for the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League Golden Boot.
Osimhen opened the scoring in the 59th minute before doubling Galatasaray’s lead from the penalty spot shortly after. He then completed his hat-trick by converting a second penalty late in the game to seal an emphatic victory for the Turkish champions.
While Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappé both failed to find the net on Matchday 4, remaining on five goals each, Erling Haaland was on target for Manchester City in their 4–1 thrashing of Borussia Dortmund, but couldn’t keep pace with Osimhen’s explosive performance.
The Nigerian forward’s heroics not only strengthened Galatasaray’s push for qualification but also reaffirmed his status as one of Europe’s most lethal strikers this season.
