Ahead of the Super Eagles Saturday’s Cameroon 2021 Africa cup of Nations qualifiers against the Squrriels of Benin in Porto Novo, former Super Eagles Defender Ifeanyi Udeze is expecting nothing short of victory when the Eagles file out tommorow.

Udeze who represented Nigeria at two African cup of Nations championship where he helped the team to a third place finish in Mali 2002 and in Tunisia 2004 respectively, also made an appearance at the Korea/Japan 2002 FIFA Worldcup, has urge the Super Eagles to make a statement and restore back the fans confidence in them after the embarrassing 4-4 draw against Serrie Lone in Benin the last time out.

Speaking on a live radio program Classicsports on Daimond88.7 Fm Ilorin, the former Westbromish Albion of England defender said, “We are not expecting anything less than a win from the Super Eagles.

“Yeah it football, anything can happen, we all saw the game against Serrie where they went from 4-0 to 4-4 am sure the players as well where not happy with that result they will also be looking to make a statement”, he said.

He however highlighted the intensity of the game tomorrow, as he expects Benin Republic who are yet to lose at home in eight years to give the Super Eagles a tough game, but believes the Eagles has enough in their Arsenal to come out with a win.

“Benin will be a very difficult game for the Super Eagles, they’ve not lost at home in eight years, they will be going out to get a win in tomorrow’s game, but i trust our players, they know what to do, they know what is at stake am sure they will get a win.

The Ex- International now turned Pundits also expressed excitement seeing the Eagles return to Lagos ahead of their final African cup of Nations qualifiers against the Crocrodiles of Lesotho at the Telsim Balogun Stadium on Tuesday.

“I am happy to see the Super Eagles back in Lagos, but know the atmosphere is always very difficult right here in Lagos, here the fans loves the Super Eagles but they are not the patient type, they want to see the Super Eagles win with a large margin, 4-0, 5-0, the fans are not always satisfied a 1- 0 lead after second half, they want goals, skills and excitement but then it is always interesting to play here in Lagos”, he concluded

The Super Eagles who arrived Cotonu on Friday morning, will file out against the Squrriels of Benin Republic on Saturday in Porto Novo, kickoff time 5:pm.
