Super Eagles forward Samuel Kalu is close to completing a move to English Premiership side Watford after reaching an agreement with French Club Bordeaux, Owosports.com.ng gathered.
The fee is believed to be in the region of £2.5-£3.5 million and Kalu is expected to sign a contract until 2026.
The 24-year-old is due to carry out a medical on Wednesday before completing the move to the Premier League.
It’s understood that Watford have been tracking Kalu for a number of years and made the decision to move now.
The Nigerian winger will be Watford’s fourth signing of the January transfer window after Samir, Hassane Kamara and Edo Kayembe.
All three featured in manager Claudio Ranieri’s starting line-up for a crucial relegation clash with Newcastle on Saturday. That game ended 1-1.
The Hertfordshire club currently sit 17th in the table, one point clear of the relegation zone.
