Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson hailed his team’s performance as they held Chelsea to a 2-2 draw in a friendly, despite being massive underdogs.
Parkinson noted the vast difference in resources between the two teams, saying:
“You have to put it into context, they spent so much money on that team, and we were in the National League just two years ago. Yet, we went toe-to-toe and could have won the game.”
Parkinson’s comments reflect the immense pride he felt in his team’s achievement, given the significant gap in budget and resources between Wrexham and the Premier League giants.
