Former Arsenal Manager Arsen Wenger has picked Nigerian Legend Nwankwo Kanu has his best winter transfer signing during his reign as the Gunners boss.
Kanu arrived from Inter Milan in Italy in January 1999 and quickly made an impact netting six goals with two assist in the second half of the season.
The Frenchman who admitted that he was not a fan of the window in his 22 years at Arsenal said that Nigerian striker Nwankwo Kanu maybe had the biggest impact to his team when he signed for the team on New Year’s Day 21 years ago.
“Maybe (Nwankwo) Kanu. In the middle of the season. That had a big impact and he was a huge player,” Wenger said in an interview with beIN Sports.
The 1996 Atlanta Olympics Gold Medalist spent five and half years at Arsenal, helping the club to two Premier League titles and two FA Cups scoring 43 times for the north London side.
