It would be a battle of the Eagles, when Nigeria’s Super Eagles takes on the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia in the round of 16 of the ongoing Totalenergies African cup of Nations at the Roumdé Adjia Stadium in Garoua, Cameroon on Sunday evening, Owosports.com.ng reports.
High flying Nigeria qualified with a hundred percent records in Group D following wins against Egypt, Sudan and Guinea Bissau, while Tunisia who haven’t been that impressive in the competition qualified as one of the best losers from Group F with three points, having won just one of their games which was a 4-0 bashing of Muritaina in their second game recovering from their opening day 1-0 controversial defeat to Mali before losing their last group game against debutant The Gambia on Thursday night.
The two Eagles last faced off at the previous edition of the African cup of Nations in Egypt 2019 at the Third place match with the Super Eagles edging out the Carthage Eagles 1-0 to clinch bronze medal, this time they will be battling for a place in the quarter-final of the AFCON.
