Super Eagles Interim Manager Augustine Eguavoen has given update regarding the controversy surrounding Odion Jude Ighalo and why he can’t be replaced, Owosports.com.ng gathered.
The gaffer revealed that Ighalo can not be replaced due to the competition rule adding that only an injured player can be replaced at this crucial time.
According to Eguavoen “The truth is Ighalo can’t be replaced, according to the rule that guilds the tournament. It’s only injured players that can be replaced. He is not injured, he has issues with his club over his availability of representing his country. We will focus on the players in the camp now.
Coach Eguavoen further revealed that Collins and Tyrone will join the team in Cameroon today, Tyrone was in action for his club last night”.
The Super Eagles who are in search of their fourth AFCON title will kickoff their campaign on Tuesday against Egypt in Garuoa.
