The Egyptian National team has asked the organisers of the Africa mundial to extend the date of the final of the competition.www.owosports.com.ng.
Egypt defeated host Cameroon in the semi-final on Thursday’s night on penalties to advance to the final of the tournament.
Speaking at the the post match press conference, Egypt National Team Assistant Coach Diaa al-Sayed asked for the delay of the weekend’s final against Senegal to give them more time to prepare.
“I want to state to all CAF authorities that Senegal have one extra day to train and therefore maybe we should play the final on Monday,” said the gaffer.
The onus fell on Diaa al-Sayed after coach Carlos Queiroz was shown a red card during the semi-final by Referee Gassama
Egypt won 3-1 from the spot kick affairs after a goalless 120 minutes in Yaounde, while Senegal had earlier overcame Burkina Faso 3-1 in normal time on Wednesday.
The Pharaohs will be looking forward to lift their Eight title when they face Teranga Lions of Senegal in the final scheduled for
February 6.
