Kwara United returned back to winning ways after three winless games as they secured a 3-0 victory over Jigawa Golden Stars in one of the NPFL match day 25 game played at the Kwara Stadium Complex in Ilorin.
Afeez Nosiru in his usual way with long range shot opened the scoreline for the Harmony Boys in the 23rd minutes with his 25- yards strike.
The visitors was making a fair show in the game until Wasiu Alalade found the opportunity to slip in the second with acrobatic style in the 48th minutes of the encounter.
Alalade would later got his first brace of the season when he connected Farayola’s cross in the 84th minutes to slot home what could be descired as a consolidation goal for the Abdullahi Biffo led side.
Speaking after the game, Coach Biffo of Kwara United noted that the result of the game was a perfect reflection of how the team had worked to live up to expectations with the purpose of keeping their target on track.
“This is best way for the team to wake up from its slumber,as I always tell people, it is a marathon race you just have to give your best anyday you can’t give your best today and next match you slow down. it’s going to affect you on the log” the gaffer said.
The former Katsina United boss stressed that they must continue to work hard in order to secure the three maximum points when they face FC Ifeanyi Ubah in their next match.
“Every team have up and down. I think for us to get it right in this match shows that we have realized our mistakes , tried to correct them and make use of our chances. If we continue this way we can still go to where we were in the first round” said the gaffer while reacting to the the new atmosphere”.
Kwara United have now moved to third position on the log after their victory with 43 points- a point separating them from the second placed team;Akwa United and 5 points from the leader of the log; Kano Pillars.
