The Chairman, Niger State Football Association ( NSFA), Comrade Ahmed Yusuf Fresh has commended Alhaji MK Usman for his consistency in sponsoring
the MK Usman Zone ‘A’ football championship.
Speaking with the newsmen after the final of the competiton last Saturday at Kudu,Mokwa local government area of Niger State, the astute football administrator asserted that the competition is a purely grassroots showpiece which remain the best way to discover talents that would make the country proud in the future.
“I sincerely appreciate the sponsor for using his hard earned resources to the right direction which is the empowerment of youth” said the NFF Technical Development Chair.
He noted the synergy between the Main organising committee and the local organising coommittee as a great enabler which aided the success of the competiton.
Stressing the importance of youth development programme and how Covid-19 has disrupted the calendar for some NFF programmes ,he expressed belief that the federation will roll out it’s usual age grade football tournament next year so as to further discover talents.
On Niger Tornadoes, the NFF Chieftain said” On our part we will do our best. The team has been having a good preparation by playing a lot of preseason tournament”.
Mokwa local government are the winner of this year’s edition of the tournament after defeating the inaugural champions,Katcha local government on penalties in what could be described as a repeated final.
