Rivers United are back in action on Sunday in the CAF TotalEnergies Champions League as they prepare to host Al Hilal FC of Sudan at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium Rivers State.
The “Pride of Rivers” will look to continue their impressive form after the 2-0 aggregate score triumph over Young Africans of Tanzania in the last preliminary round stage and Stanley Eguma’s side have an impressive home record in this CAF Champions League campaign.
The Portharcourt based side will be in-search of another success at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in the first leg of the 2nd preliminary CAF Champions League round as they hope to secure their place in the Group phases of the competition.
The Confederation of African Football has however given approval to allow a total of 10,560 spectators into the stadium for the match.
The approval from CAF was communicated to the NFF in a letter dated 11th October, 2021.
There will be no fresh faces in both team’s lineup as players registered after the initial registration window are not eligible to be play.
