Chelsea Legend and former manager Frank Lampard has emerge as the front runner to replace Rafael Benitez as the new manager of Everton football club after the Spanish gaffer was axed following strings of poor results, Owosports.com.ng reports.

Frank Lampard has been out of work since leaving his job at Chelsea a year ago but has been tipped to return to Premier League management with Everton considering him as the favourite to replace Rafa Benitez after a backlash from the Everton fans over Vitor Pereira, hurting the Portuguese’s chances of taking the job.

According to the Independent, the 42-year-old has jumped to the front of the queue and would be backed with signings if he is appointed before Monday’s transfer deadline.

Duncan Ferguson has also been lined up alongside Frank Lampard and Victor Pereira as top three favorite for the coaching role with decision set to be made in the coming days.
