Says They’re Still Work In Progress, Gives Injury Update On Michael, Saka

Head coach of SGFC Athletics Sports Club, Mashood Yakub has commended his lads winning mentality and fighting spirit after their victory over Police FC in the semifinal of the Wali of Ilorin cup on Wednesday.

SGFC Athletics edge Police Football Club 1-0 to reach the final of the Wali of Ilorin cup thanks to a 86th minutes winner from Iman Abdulgafar.

“I commend the boys, I like their mentality, they really prove themselves as a warrior, they gave everything on the pitch I am proud of the team”, He said to SGFC Media.

“Police FC really gave us a fight and the boys came to the party they responded which is something to be happy about, It’s still a preparation ground through the team is gradually getting shape and ready for the commencement of the NLO season, we won’t stop we will keep working.” He said.

He however gave update on Saka Rahman and Ogani Michael’s Injury who were both stretched off during the encounter.

“They are both fine, nothing really serious they’ve been attended to. Saka Rahman who had a mini fracture will be out for one or two weeks while Michael Ogani who had a dislocated shoulder is expected to be on the sideline for four weeks”, Coach Yakub said.

SGFC will take on Dickalo FA in the final of the Wali of Ilorin Cup in a yet to be announced date.
