Players and officials of Nigeria Women Premier League, NWPL side, Confluence Queens were celebrated on Saturday in Lokoja with award ceremony for picking one of the tickets to the season’s Super 4.
The event which took place at the club’s camp in Lokoja was also used to appraise the club’s activities.
Chairman of the club, Mallam Abdul Sule in a remark said the occasion was also to appreciate the players for their outstanding performance in the outgoing season and to spur them ahead of end of the season’s Super 4.
While thanking the Kogi State Government for the tremendous support, Mallam Sule commended the technical crew, management members and the supporters’ club for their support so far just as he asked for more.
Monle Omini won the ‘Best Goalkeeper’ of the season, Adoo Yina emerged the ‘Best Talent’ of the season while Florence Alexander won the ‘Outstanding Performance of the Season’ Award.
The club’s Supporters Club led by Honorable Moses Bako was also appreciated for their continuous and tremendous supports to the team.
Coach of the team, Ogbonda Whyte thanked his technical crew, players and management for the support assuring that the club would double their effort to achieve greatness at the Super 4.
Other remarks were also delivered by Chairman of the Supporters Club, Hon Moses Bako, captain of the team, Okpalla Maureen.
Confluence Queens will compete fort he NWPL Super 4 honors with Rivers Angels, Adamawa Amazons and Bayelsa Queens at a later date.
