Barely 24 hours after Usman Abd’Allah Shariff quit his role as the Technical Adviser of Wikki Tourists of Bauchi, management of the NPFL side has approved the appointment of Baba Jibrin as the interim Coach.
Baba Jibrin who has been the Chief Coach of the team for two seasons will be in the dugout for the team pending the appointment of a substantive Technical Adviser.
His first test will be against Plateau United in a MatchDay 23 fixture at the Jos City Stadium.
Jibrin was member of the 1987 Golden Eaglets squad that represented Nigeria at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Canada where the country won sliver medals.
After quilting active football, Baba went into full time coaching as he holds a B License Coaching Certificate from the Nigeria Institute for Sports (NIS), Lagos.
Recall that former Technical Adviser of the team Usman Abd’Allah Shariff on Monday resigned from his position after just 14 months in the job.
Abd’Allah, made no mention of his reasons for throw in the towel but a letter, “With much respect and gratitude for having the privilege to work with you, I am very sad to tender my resignation as the Technical Adviser of Wikki Tourists Football Club of Bauchi,” he wrote.
“I wish the club success in its future endeavours.”
The France-based coach replaced Garba Ibrahim on an initial five-month deal in January 2020 just days after being let go by Enyimba with the remit to secure their top-flight stay with Wikki Tourists in 14th place at the time.
