The Super Falcons of Nigeria fell to a 2-0 defeat against Japan in their friendly encounter at the Noevir Stadium, Kobe, on Thursday morning.
Japan dominated the game from the start, but goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie made a number of good saves to deny the Nadeshiko as both sides were tied at after 45 minutes.
Japan scored two quick goals thanks to a brace from Mi Tanaka.
Sugita wins a free kick at the edge of the box which was floated in by Naomoto right foot to pick out Mi Tanaka who converted from close range to establish a 1- 0 for Japan.
And in the 68th minute Mi Tanaka got her second as she converted calmly from the penalty spot, after Ohale brought down Sugita inside the box who was through on goal.
The Super Falcons are now winless in their last five games.
Japan extended their winning streak against the former African champions to three games.
The friendly match between Nadeshiko of Japan currently ranked 11th in the FIFA rankings and super falcons 46th is part of preparations ahead of next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup.
