Gombe United have been confirmed relegated to the Nigeria National league after their loss at home to Sunshine Stars of Akure in their matchday 34 encounter of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Promise Awosanmi and lucky Nwafor scored for the Akure Gunners in the first half. Gombe United failed to bounce back from the two goals deficit which lead to their confirmation to the second division of the Nigeria league.
The Savanna Tiger gathered 25 points in 34 matches played so far this season, winning just one game in their last five matches. They have four games to play in this current campaign.
Gombe United have been in the Nigeria Premier Football League for the three consecutive season. This will mark the end of the journey in the league for now, as they’ll continue their journey in the Nigeria National league.
