Chairman Osun State Basketball Association, Engineer Opeyemi Babalola, has stated that he has no regret whatsoever during his days as a basketball player.
The Chief Operating Officer of Webber Engineering, Nigeria’s first and Africa’s only commercial viable basketball facilities manufacturing company played for Kwara Falcons, Dodan Warriors and the University of Aberdeen Basketball team, before calling it quit and focused on his career as an engineer.
During an interview session on a popular Whatsapp Sports Group, the Subsea Engineering Masters Degree holder from the University of Aberdeen told Family United by Football (FUBF) that he is satisfied and has no regrets as a basketballer.
“I have always made the best of any situation I find myself in,” Webber told FUBF.
“Now I am into the fabrication of Basketball equipment for over five years now and I am happy about my achievements.
“For me not playing professional basketball in the NBA or for the Tigers does not mean that I am not fulfilled or have regrets over.
“I feel everyone has got his role to play in this industry and am satisfied that I can still make positive impact in Nigeria basketball system.”
Engineer Babalola has been contributing to the development of the game of Basketball in Nigeria through construction of both fixed and portable Basketball system and renovation of existing facilities which has further created more job opportunities for coaches, artisans, metal fabricators, glass manufacturers and many more.
